Acupuncture
Acupuncture and acupressure are techniques for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as Chi or Qi (Chee) — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in human body. Consequently, any disruption of the energy flow can cause discomforts, pain, or even diseases. By inserting very thin sterile needles into specific points along these meridians, practitioners may re-balance and smooth your energy flow. As a result, besides the pain management section, increasingly, acupuncture is being used for overall wellness, stress or depression management, infertility, internal issues, sleeping issues, digestive problems, or even mental disorders.
Massage and Tui Na
Besides the normal Medical Massage, Ling Nature Balance Acupuncture P.C. also offer Tui Na massage. The name of Tui Na as a modality comes from the two words describing actions in the treatment: Tui means “to push” and Na means “to grab or squeeze.” Tui Na has been called a combination of Shiatsu—a Japanese bodywork practice—and Acupressure Massage. Furthermore, some techniques and strokes used in Tui Na are much like those used in a relaxing Swedish massage, such as gliding, kneading, rocking, pulling, friction, and rolling.
Tui Na can be used to either encourage overall wellness (through harnessing qi) to treat specific conditions like a variety of local pain. Tui Na massage, combined with herbs and acupuncture, is a vital part of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Other Modalities
It is worth mentioning that with chronic diseases, Ling Nature Balance Acupuncture also offers Chinese herbal formulas for the rehabilitation, and teaching TCM rehabilitative Qi Gong Course like Baduan Jin, Eight Kumgang Gong.
